In a signing ceremony this morning at the House of European Football in
Nyon, Switzerland, UEFA CEO, Lars-Christer Olsson, and the President of
the European Football Pool, Dieter Leinmüller, signed a letter of
extension for the club competition for the year 2005.
After the signing, UEFA CEO, Lars-Christer Olsson, commented; "I
am very pleased to have signed an extension to our partnership with the
EFP for the UEFA Intertoto Cup. This is an important European competition
for many of the smaller club sides in Europe and provides the three winning
finalists with a great opportunity to progress further in European competition,
via the UEFA Cup."
Dieter Leinmüller, President of the European Football Pool, said:
"I am pleased to have signed this year's UEFA Intertoto Cup contract
and look forward to an even more fruitful and stronger collaboration with
UEFA. It is a partnership that has worked well for a number of years already
and will continue to do so."
